Happy 4th of July!!!!

So the enter key on my keyboard is broken so this is just going to be one long paragrph... sorry. but let me just start by saying that this has been  pretty awesome week. in the beginning of the week we were able to meet the new president. he is a rather calm guy. but he came with  a new vision. president Gonzaga was always talking about baptism. Our New president Gomes has basically said that baptism is not enough in missionary work anymore and that we need to expand our view into helping our recent converts arrive at the temple. that is our new vision. simple baptism will not be enough. we must be prepared for the work and the perserverance to help our investigators and converts go to the house of the lord. i´m pretty pumped about it. plus a fun little fact is that my new mission president totally looks like mermaid man from spongebob. (if i wasnt a goof i would have sent you guys a picture of him.) =) also I was finally able to hold a district meeting were i was able to meet my entire district. it consists of 8 people total. 4 sisters and 4 elders. the funny thing is that 6 of the people in the district are american. it kinda blew me away because they there are far more brazillians then there are foreiners in the mission. so also this week was 4th of july. so the 3 americans that i´m living with decided to celebrate a little bit. so we bought all the stuff we needed to do pancakes, bacon, and eggs. a true american breakfast. Elder lima, (the only brazillian in our house) was a good sport about it and celebrated with us. we promised him that if we still have contact with him when september comes around will celebrate the independence day of brazil too. =) so let me tell you about the week a little bit too. it was slightly anticlimactic.... haha! we had about 30 people ready to go to church and almost none of them seemed to be those people that just say they will go to church just so they dont offend you and get you to leave faster. so sunday morning comes around we go out to go get the people to bring them to church and one by one they all start coming up with the stupid excuses of why they couldnt go to church... blasted free agency... hahaha! no i´m kidding. but that was pretty much the week. we kicked but during the week and worked in all honesty incredibly hard. but sadly the results were few. but you need to have some lame weeks to keep you humble. =) well i´m happy to hear that you guys are still doing the 4th of july traditions too. just let everyone know that i´m proud to be an american. =) i´ll talk to you all next week. thanks so much for the love and support. =) see you! Elder Cornwall
