Hello My Fine Family! Tudo Bem!
OK! What happened this week. We did not get in any more missionaries this week which was VERY welcome news... i also was able to finally take a few pictures today! i'll try and send my MTC photos back before i head out to the field. The portuguese is also comeing along well! i'm able to teach about a 20 minute lesson that and answer questions roughly. I'm still not super good at the language but hey its a learning process right! RIGHT! i'm super excited that i am able to understand as much as i am and i'm just hoping that the language comes a little faster!...
So what are some juicy things that i could tell you about.... My roomates have become the zone leaders and so they went pretty freaking nuts with the rules... its kinda annoying but hey! i'm not out here to find joy in my self! its to be found in the work!
I also found out that i can send pictures here and there through email. so you may be recieving a couple pictures in the following weeks. =)
So yes i recieved the package and i must say that i really love beyond all reason with the fiery burning passion of a thousand suns for time and all eternity love my mommy. yes i did share my spoils but they kinda pale in comparison to the 26 pound package that my companion recieved from his parents. all of which was food.... it kinda freaked me out when i saw it.... i'm not jealous... haha! but yes i did love my mommys special gift! =)

Till Next Week my family! insert a lovie and mushy goodie good boy comment here and i will bid thee farewell till next time! toodles.

Hee Ho hee ho! Well to take care of some buisness!!! Thank you mom for all the packages and stuff. =) i've been loveing the random apples! =) I'm still working on the gardettos but my roomates found the mini m&m's so i got about one palm ful of those... (they are savages!!!!) haha! but yes i got everything else and i think i'm pretty set. Thanks mom!!!
OK! Down to the important things! I am fluent in portugese already...... =) hahaha! no not even close. I'm still progressing but its still tough! i'm about 1/5 of the way through the BoM already so i feel like thats a good goal to have! i'm planning on finishing it before i step out into the field.
So how is everybody at home? Everything here is going pretty alright. i've recently found out how imature Elders can be... especially me.... haha! we usually have a set of weekly goals and one of them is to get our teachers (we have two) to go on a date. neither of them had that special band that goes on the left ring finger, =) then we found out that Brother Dodge has a girl friend. It... Was... Awful... all our hopes were dashed and we spent the rest of the day thinking of how we could still get them to go on a date... =) hahaha! were dumb!
Oh! and adding to the immaturity of people my district is thinking about having me dress up in a turban and if and when we go out to pick up the new elders carry me around like a arabic kingly figure, and when the the noobs get out of the car they want me to scream in my high pitched voice, "Cease him!" then we have a bunch of other people all in towel turbans come out chanting and grunting grabbing the noob by the arms and saying "good day" to the parents and then telling him that "we wil now show him to his cell. haha! dont think thats going to happen but hey its a nice thought... sorta... =)
Currently we have 4 elders in our rooms at once and it is really crowded... we just got a notice late last week that we will be having another two coming into our rooms this wednesday... I'm going to suffacate... gah! haha! i mean! yippee!!! more people to serve the lord! =) haha!
So mom you asked where my companion is from. i've narrowed it down to the west coast. he tells every one that he's from where they are from... i've heard, san diego, oregon, longbeach, its kinda funny. those are the most common answers. =) so... west coast... haha! i think he just moved alot. =)

Anyway! thank you so much for the support back home! the apples are great and i think i may just have to track down some mini M&M's for myself and not tell anyone. =) till next week!

* Over the next two years we will be posting updates on Drew. This is his mom... enjoy!

Hello my Family! Greetings from the Provo MTC!
Life here is great so far! Im doing very well. I hope that you were able to get my letter recently! I sent it last saturday so it should be there soon! you can also let Jodi and Kendall know that there are letters in the mail coming to them.
SO!!! Where to begin... My companions name is Elder Mc Mahan. You pronounce it Mc Man so its kinda cool. Hes half black with way curly hair. he showed me pictures of it his hair before his mission and he totally had a fro. it was great. He also is half black. i think you read that in my way to formal of a letter that i wrote you. hopefully you dont think im not still a goof. =) but hey ive been able to go to the temple once and actually it was today! and it was a really cool experience! im learning so much here and its really cool! the first few days that i was here were a bit overwhelming. but its really pretty cool now.
the other elders in my room are way cool too. Elder Driscle is like a freaking genius and then elder steele is a rock climber. hes way good at rock climbing too.
My district is way awesome. I dont think i could have been placed in a better place then with the district i am now. however we dont have any sisters... we are all men... i cant tell you how upsetting that is... But what i think is interesting is we have so many different backgrounds of people in our district that im so suprised that we actually came together and work together as well as we do. =) we are always doing things to try and look out first for our own companion and then see to it that everyone else in our district is feeling accepted and welcome. and even though we have jocks, know-it-alls, goody-goods, quiet, and nerdy people, (im the only musical backgrounded one in my district,) we all come together and get along great. so far this mission has been fantastic. I hope everything at home is going as well as it is here.
Now that ive given you the update I have 6 minutes and 19 seconds to write you an experience from today. Today i went to the temple and just did the session and then came out. the end... haha! no. ok! while i was at the temple i got my temple recommend out of my wallet for them to scan and then didnt put it back in my wallet but just into my pocket. as i was sticking everyting into the locker i just brought out my wallet and stuck it into the locker on the bottom underneath everything. while we were leaving i realized that i did not remember seeing my temple recommend with my wallet. i check all my pockets but fail to find it. i go back in with elder mc mahan and they graciously let us go down and search. i wasnt able to find it anywhere... then one of the members of the temple presidency comes down and tells me if i dont find it im going to have to set up an interview with the mission president to get a new one. i didnt find it at the temple. i was a little upset that i had already lost my temple recommend after the first time that i used it. but as soon as we get back in the dorm, and after i checked all my pockets about 5 times. i get the idea to check my shoe... Lo and behold when i take my foot out of my left shoe a little plastic covered peice of paper falls out and then i find it! anyway im over my time limit so i got to go!
