Newness...

Well this week just had a bunch of things happen that made it seem like i´m not even working in the same area that i was before. Let me just start by describing some of the new situation i´m in but within the same geographical area.

First! New companion. His name is Elder Max. He is a really good guy. He´s from Payson utah. He Is really good friends with elder rock (My ZL) They knew eachother before the mission. This will be Elder Rocks and Elder Max´s last tranfer so to say the least they are a little excited to go home.... yeah...

Second! we got a new ward mission leader. he served his mission in São Paulo and just got home last week from his mission. he is way stinking excited to be put in the spot where he was. he was serving as assistant to the president when he left and had just got done serving an extra 2 weeks to leave a training with the entire mission. needless to say he is quite an amazing missionary. even though he´s back from the mission he is still doing contacts in the street talking with everone he can find about the gospel. This area should explode becuase of him.

Third! We got a new house. it is way better then the run down place we were living in. its such a nice change up. However we had to repair our old house before we could leave. which means we painted all the walls, changed out broken tiles, and cleaned out everything else before we could leave. I´m so happy that that is overwith... I hate moving. haha! so at least we are in a new situation.

Fourth. New Mission President. His name is President Gomes. I still have not met him yet but he will give his welcoming talk Tomorrow to all the missionaries of sergipe. I´m curious as to how the mission will change under new leadership. I´m almost positive that it will be a new ball game. sure it will still be about bringing souls unto christ but the home life and the trainings that i do for the disrict i´m sure will change a little bit.

well My times about up so i´ll have to cut it here. I´m sorry i left my camera at home. I just kinda forget about it. sorry but youll have pictures next week. I´ll be sure to send you guys something. Till Next week!

Transfers!!!!

Yep its transfers week again! and guess what! for the fourth transfer in a row i´m staying in Siqueira Campos!!! woo hoo!!! however elder Gross is leaving me. =( he´s heading out to alagoas somewhere. so i´m not sure who it will be but i´ll have a new companion in the next week.

So this week was kinda interesting. because we had to trade houses. we found a way better house for like 30 more bucks a month so we went through all the contracts and paper work to move into that house. (with the church being perfectly organized... thats a lot of contracts and paper work...) so even though i wasnt transfered i got a new house. =) and i´m not going to lie i´m super happy to have left that old house. =)

with the move we were not able to work much this week cause we were getting a lot of junk resolved to close the last contract. sadly this means that we will have to paint the entire house. the church has a great policy to leave it better then you found it... which means probably for the next week every morning we will be heading out there to paint... Just like working at windsor... oh boy...

This week we also had a baptism. Her name was Magna. she was a woman who had been going to church for a really long time. and she always wanted to be baptized. sadly she wasnt able to for a really long time because her husband didnt really want to get married. one day me and elder gross went there and started talking about how it really was a comandment of god and how living outside of those bounds set by god was a sin. he understood and decided that they should marry. he didnt really want to get baptized cause he isnt much of a churchy guy but he respects god and his comandments. so last week they were married finally and Magna was finally able to be baptized.

so yep the week was good. i´m going to head out and get some lunch here soon with the other elders so i´m going to have to cut it right here. but i love you guys! Oh!!! just remembered! I got the package last tuesday and we´ve already eaten all of it exept for the peanut butter and the honey. =) thanks so much! i´ll talk to you next week! buh bye now!!!

God has a Sense of Humor...

Hey Every body!

Well mom i hope your alright. sugury is never fun. know that i´m praying for your well being too. =) Happy fathers day too dad!  hope all went well on your special day! I hope you know that I chuckle quite a bit when i read that my old Papa is getting into the music of our day. =)

So the world cup started down here and its pretty much nuts now... we havent had to change our techniques all that much but we just cant be in the streets during the games of brazil. when brazil played last thursday it was pretty stinking nuts. we had to stay in our house for the rest of the day because the people just started going crazy. they started blowing really annoying horns throwing out about 10,000 dollars worth of fireworks about every 10 seconds. it was awesome. I got a little bit of it on film so i´ll have to show you guys when i get a chance to show you my videos.

Also... like a said in the subject line. God truly has a sense of humor. I was rather concerned with myself this week. I started reading about how, as a missionary, my faith should be strong enough to be able to do miracles. I dont just need to believe in god but believe that he has real power in heaven as he does on earth. When I got right down to it I found I had something like a lack of trust. I didnt doubt that god COULD do it. but i had a real hard time believing that he WOULD. So I started Praying that I might know that god really does miracles.

Yesterday we went to the house of an old woman Named Luzia. she was a woman who had recently been put in the hospital and just got home a couple days ago. she asked for a preisthood blessing that she may be comforted in her trials. we pronounced a blessing and she thanked us and we were on our way. but then she stopped us and asked us to also give a Blessing on her Newly born Great Grand Daughter. This little Child had been unable to "bomb the harbar" for 4 days and she was really concerned about it. so we did as she asked and gave the baby a blessing. no more then ten minutes later as we are about to leave her house and the Babys mother runs in the house and screams "SHES POOPING!!!" but if i may illustrate the scene for you it was not just a poop. as she was carrying her the little baby left so much that it started seeping out the sides of the diaper and left a nice little track on the floor of where they were carrying her. they basically held her up like the monkey does with cimba in the lion king. every one was either laughing with joy or crying and thanking their heavonly father for the miraculous occurance.

When people say that god works in mysterious ways they aren´t kidding. as an answer to my prayer to believe that god does miracles AND that he may do miracles through me. he placed a constipated baby in my path that i might bless her. and the blessing worked so well that the fun prizes she left for everyone even got stuck in her hair. it was one of the most amazing if not a little nausiating things i´d ever seen.

well i´d best be off. we´ll see you guys next week!

I just need a hug...

So I told my companion how lately i´ve just been wanting a hug from a woman. sadly the little White book that stays in my front pocket all day prohibits me from doing that. however today right before we made the best spaghetti ever with garlic bread, I was Reading a book called "the great and abominable church of the devil" (written by a former seventy) he suddenly screams "sneak attack!" and hug tackles me to the ground. we sat there wrestling for about 10 minutes. I lost.... afterwhich I was thinking yep... I´ll be really happy when i go home and hugs arent so blasted violent... haha!!!

So sadly this week I forgot to bring my câmera to the lan house. so you are going to have to wait a week to get a Picture of your little boy. sorry. but i´ll be sure to remember in the next week. also to answer the question about the milk and eggs thing. yes i do have access to it but none of it is refrigerated. the milk is vacuum sealed and the eggs you just have to cook well. no word on the package yet. sorry.

alright so i´ll move on to the hightlights of the week. We´ve been working with a Family for a super long time. the problem is they aren´t married and they for someone to marry down here its super stinking complicated and expensive. the lords hand has really touched her life even though she doesn´t have the best of living conditions and her husband does really suport the marriage idea she was finally able to conveince him that they should marry so that she could be baptized. her daughter will be baptized with her too. she will be quite an addition to the church. she as a real working spirit about her. she just knows how to get thing done and i can already see her being a great influence for good for the people in the church.

so also things áre getting really pretty crazy as the cup is getting closer. everyone is putty up brazillian flags in the street, doing amazing chalk paintings on the streets and graffities all over the town cause everyone is so blasted excited. it got to the point that the área seventy of declared that every single missionary in brazil will stay home during the brazil games. if brazil plays. we stay home. yeah... i´m not very excited about that...

so just know that i´m good. I lost track that fathers day was so close. down here fathers day is in august so i havent been Hearing anything all about it. So i´ll talk to you guys next week! see you!
