Subject Line....Yep, I'm out of ideas.....

 

Hey there everybody!!!!

So it was a pretty crazy storm that passed through huh? yea i´ve been getting those about once a week for the past little bit. haha! no, but it does rain a lot more here then i recall it raining there.

So this week has just been all about missionary work. its been pretty awesome. my companion, Elder Leonan, for some reason got super motivated all of the sudden and me and him have been working our tails off this week. we started talking with just about everyone in the street. and barely had time to eat food. it was pretty cool cause it made the week pass pretty quick. While we were working hard we got a referance from President Gonzaga. He told us that he´s been working with this family for some time now. so when we got the referance we kinda freaked out a bit. if its a referance from the president it has to be pretty good. and it was. =)

so first we call. we ask for a mary jane. (interesting brazillian name... haha) and set a meeting for the following day. when we go over there she welcomes us in. and we have a great little chit chat. she tells us that she´s really interested in what we believe. so in the smoothest manner i think we´ve ever done, when went from talking about nothing to talking about the gospel. it was so cool! we started explaining prophets, and the church of christ and then she calls her daughter down. (she was beautiful...) ANYWAY! so her daughter and her are listening and we get about half way through explaining how christ established his church and then the husband comes home. he´s way excited to see us too.

so now we have the whole family there and decide to start over just to teach everyone everything. they were full of questions and really wanted to "understand" what we were saying not just hear what we had to say! it was so awesome working with them. they were so prepared to here the gospel. very powerful lesson. so we invite them to read the BoM and tell them to pray about it and to attend church. They start doing all of it!

When they came to church only the daughter and the husband (they have crazy brazillian names and i dont know how to spell them...) were able to make it. Mary jane (the wife) was sick that day. that day for me sacrament meeting was particularly powerful. and so were all the other things. and a comment that the husband made in gospel principles was pretty cool. he said (in portugeuse) i want to continue learning so i can stay here. =D needless to say this was a pretty cool week.

well i think i better go. I need to email president and stuff. thanks for all the prayers and support! buh bye now!
